Throughout the Bible it’s clear that God wants his people to care for people who are vulnerable, especially children. There are a number of people in our church who have already adopted children into their families, or who provide foster care. As a church, we consider these people to be spiritual heroes, giants of the faith.
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…”
We are in the process of thinking through what it might mean to take this call even more seriously. To this end, we have begun a partnership with Barnardo’s Scotland, who are helping us to explore how we as a church could do more to care for the vulnerable children in our region.
If you would like to explore the possibility of fostering or adoption, we would strongly encourage you to make contact with Barnardo’s on 01224 624090, or click here for more information. Please also speak to your Site Pastor, so they can support you and encourage you along the way.
